Ted Ihns opened and closed his Concordia Comets football career on high notes as he earned the team’s Rookie of the Year honor in 1984 before being named the Comet’s team MVP and Concordia College Male Athlete of the Year as a senior in 1988-89.
 
In between, Ihns was one of the more decorated linemen in CSP football history as he earned All-America honorable mention status in 1988, was a two-time All-District performer (1987 & 1988), was a two-time All-Upper Midwest Conference (UMAC) First Team selection (1987 & 1988) and earned All-UMAC Second Team honors as a rookie in 1984. The three-time CSP Defensive Lineman of the Year was also a team captain for the Comets as a senior.
 
In addition to his on-field accolades, Ihns was vice president of Concordia Association of Health, Physical Education Recreation and Dance Association. He attended CSP along with his brother, Delbert and his sister, Deborah.
 
In addition to his degree from Concordia, Ihns earned a Master of Science degree in educational leadership from Winona State University (2002), a k-12 principal license from WSU (2003) and a school district superintendent license from WSU (2011).
 
He’s in his fourth year as an elementary school principal at Pine Bend Elementary in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. He was nominated for High School Assistant Principal of the Year for the Capital Division and was a member of the Iowa Football Coaching Staff of the Year.
 
Ted has four children with his wife, Pamela: Kelsey, Courtney, Cassidy and Peyton.
