Paige Dopp was the ace pitcher for the Golden Bear softball team that helped Concordia capture its first Northern Sun championship at any sport, winning the 2001 NSIC Regular Season and Tournament championships in the program’s second year of Division II and Northern Sun membership.
Â
She was a key catalyst in leading Concordia to a 92-47-2 overall and 33-14 NSIC record in her three seasons. The right handed pitcher was a three-time All-NSIC First Team performer and was named the NSIC Tournament Most Valuable Pitcher in 2000 and again in 2001 as a two-time NSIC All-Tournament Team member.

In Concordia’s first year in the NSIC and at the Division II level in 2000, Dopp compiled a 20-win season (20-12) with a sterling 2.05 ERA, striking out 215 batters in 220.1 innings across 35 appearances as she threw 32 complete games among her 33 starts including 10 shutouts.

Â
She was a two-way player, also featuring a role in the lineup as she was a .284 career hitter with 100 hits including 17 doubles, five home runs, 66 runs scored and 50 RBI. She had a career-high four home runs in 2001, had at least five doubles all three years and drove in 19 runs each in 2001 and 2002.
Â
In addition to her undergraduate degree in education from CSP, Dopp also earned a master’s degree in organizational management from Concordia and has been a special education teacher for nine years including the last three in the Mounds View School District.
