Andrew Fleischman helped transition the Comets to the Golden Bear-era and NCAA Division II athletics as a two-sport athlete. He was named Concordia’s Male Athlete of the Year as a senior during a season that he established a record for most games started in his career (40).
A two-time All-UMAC performer (1997, 1998), Fleischman would immediately make an impact at the next level by earning All-NSIC honorable mention accolades the next season in 1999, gaining Successful Farming All-America recognition as well.
As a senior in 2000, Fleischman earned the NSIC Glen Galligan Award, was a Lutheran All-American and Successful Farming Magazine All-American, CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team selection, earned the NSIC Masterson Award, was a All-NSIC First Team blocker and earned Verizon All-Region honors.

He was a senior team captain in the 2000 season as the team improved from a 2-8 campaign in their first year of Division II football in 1999 to a 7-3 mark in the 2000 season – a 5-win turnaround. They went from eighth to third in the NSIC as well.
He also earned three letters on the diamond for the baseball team, appearing in 15 games as a pitcher while compiling 48.0 innings. He struck out 28 batters including a career-high 21 strikeouts in 1998 as a freshman.
The Lester Prairie, Minn.-native played three football seasons under fellow Hall of Fame inductee Dan O’Brien (1997-99).
After graduation, Fleischman played a season of arena football for the Sioux Falls Storm. He has coached football for the past 10 years at Edgerton Public, leading his team to state five times including the school’s first-ever state championship in 2011. He’s a five-time Section Coach of the Year, six-time Conference Coach of the Year and in 2011 was named the State 9-Man Coach of the Year.
He and his wife, Bobbi Jo - also a Concordia graduate ('01), have been married for 10 years and have three daughters: Addison (10), Elliott (6) and Johanna (3).
