2011: Played in 11 and started 5 games at linebacker for the Golden Bears... ranked 10th on the team in total tackels (34)... tied for 6th on the team in sacks (1.5)... 10th on the team in tackles for loss (3)... tied for 3rd on the team in forced fumbles (1)... tied for 2nd on the team in fumbles recovered (1)... recorded 5 tackles (0.5 sacks) against Minot State (9/3/2011)... had 3 tackles including a sack against Northern State (9/17/2011)... registered 4 tackles (3 solo) against Augustana (10/1/2011)... recorded 5 tackles (4 solo, 0.5 for loss) against Minnesota Crookston (10/29/2011)... named CU Defensive Lineman and Defensive Player of the Week against Upper Iowa (11/5/2011).

2010: Played in all 12 games ... posted new career-highs in tackles (17), tackles for loss (4.0) and sacks (1.5) while recording his first career interception (at Minnesota Crookston, 10/30/10) and forced fumble (at Minnesota Crookston, 10/30/10) ... registered first career sack with 1.5 sacks and TFL and tying career high in tackles with three in season opening win over Minota State (9/4/10) ... also had three tackles in week two against St. Cloud State (9/11/10) ... had at least one tackle in nine games and had two or more tackles in six games.

2009: Played in all 11 games for the Golden Bears ... recorded six total tackles including a career-high three against Minnesota State (10/10/09) ... also had two tackles at MSU Moorhead (9/12/09) and one against Wayne State (10/31/09).

2008: Played in five games ... made two tackles including a tackle for loss against Minot State ... also recorded a solo stop at Bemidji State.

2007: Redshirted ... named CU Scout Defensive Player of the Week at Central Missouri.

Minnetonka High School: Earned two letters in football and track & field and one letter in basketball for the Skippers ... was a member of the fastest 4x200 team and the third fastest 4x100 team at the conference championships. 

Personal: Born November 17, 1988 ... son of Karl Monroe and Gloria Johnson ... has a brother, James (13) ... has four older sisters, Marita, Lataura, Katrina and Krystle ... is pursuing a major in marketing with a history minor ... will look to a career in marketing or sports marketing.
