Four Golden Bears head to the NCAA Indoor Championships

Benjamin Allen, Toni Canfall, Arika Robinson, and Hannah Gustafson prepare to make their mark in Alabama

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Concordia-St. Paul has four athletes set to compete in the NCAA DII Indoor Championships on Friday, March 13th, and Saturday, March 14th, in Birmingham, Alabama. Toni Canfall, Arika Robinson, and Hannah Gustafson will represent the women's team while Benjamin Allen will represent the men at the national meet.
 
Toni Canfall qualified for the 60-meter and 200-meter dash and will compete in prelims for both events on Friday evening. The 60m shotgun will go off at 3:25 p.m. and the 200m will begin soon after at 5:20 p.m. Finals will be the following day with the 60m at 4:10 p.m. and the 200m at 5:40 p.m. At the NSIC Championships, Canfall ran a career best time of 7.44 seconds and is now ranked fourth in the nation. In the 200m, the junior ranks 16th with a time of 24.36 seconds.
 
Arika Robinson and Hannah Gustafson will compete in field events for the Golden Bears. Robinson is ranked 11th in the nation for High Jump and will contend with a group of 16 other jumpers at the national meet. The sophomore will compete at 5:05 p.m. on Saturday, March 14th with an entry mark of 5'7.75" (CSP School Record). Gustafson was selected to compete in the Weight Throw after her 61'8.5" throw at the Minnesota Cold Classic. The senior is the 11th seed and will compete with the top 20 throwers in the nation. Her event will start at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 13th.
 
The NCAA Indoor Championships will be Benjamin Allen second appearance at a national meet, but his first for indoor. The senior qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2019 for the 1500m where he placed fourth. Allen will run in the one-mile race as the sixth seed out of 16 other distance runners. His school record time is 4:05.68 and prelims will be Friday, March 13th, at 3:40 p.m. with finals the next day at 4:20 p.m.
 
The championships will be held at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama with The University of Montevallo and the City of Birmingham serving as co-hosts of the event. All events will be streamed live on www.NCAA.com each day.
