ABERDEEN, S.D. – After the first full day of competition at the NSIC Outdoor Championships at Swisher Field on the campus of Northern State on Friday, the Concordia-St. Paul women's track and field team sits in sixth place with 22 points while the men's team sits in ninth with 14 points.

Arika Robinson tallied 18 of the team's 22 points with a huge day as she was crowned as the NSIC Champion in the high jump while finishing in second in the heptathlon, earning All-NSIC honors in both. Robinson made it a clean sweep in the high jump this year as she also claimed the top spot in both the high jump and pentathlon in the indoor season. She cleared 5'9.75" to pace the field by over an inch.

In the heptathlon, Robinson took first for the fourth time in the first five events with a mark of 18'9.25" before taking sixth in both the javelin and the 800m to take home second place overall.

Robinson wasn't the only Golden Bear to score points in the high jump as Ella Paaverud's height of 5'3.75" was good for eighth place and a point. Sofia Dodge added three more points for the team with a sixth place result and a height of 11'3.50" in the pole vault.

Christabelle Mulcahy put herself in prime position to add to the team's point total on Saturday as she qualified for the finals in the 100m hurdles as her time of 14.20 seconds was good for fifth in the prelims.

On the men's side, eight of the team's 14 points came in the decathlon as Calder Erick grabbed five points with a fourth place finish while Arik Johnson took fifth to score three points.

Erick's final tally after the last five events registered in at 5641, highlighted by a first place finish in the 110m hurdles, a second place finish in the javelin throw and a third place finish in the discus on the day.

Johnson finished at 5519 as he took third in the 100m hurdles and the pole vault on Friday while Peyton Enders just missed making it three CSP athletes in the points as his 5202 points were good for ninth.

Eben Mundfrom was the top finisher for the men as his mark of 181'4" in the hammer throw was good for third and six points, earning him All-NSIC honors.

Four Golden Bears qualified for the finals on the track as Thomas Dietel took sixth in the prelims in the 100m with a time of 10.85 seconds, Thomas Schauerman took seventh with a time of 1:54.81, and Matthew Helser (4:02.28) and Emmett Faltesek (4:03.47) took second and 10th, respectively, in the 1500m.
