ST. PAUL, Minn.- The Concordia-St. Paul track and field team will see action again this weekend as the team returns to Mankato, Minn. to compete in the NSIC Indoor Challenge hosted by Minnesota State on Saturday, Feb. 12.

NSIC Indoor Challenge
Head Coach Sam Johnson commented ahead of the meet, "We are trying to prioritize the 4x4 relays on the track while still putting in some work with individual events for those running on the relays."
The men's team will have three groups of athletes representing CSP in the 4x400m relays. Group A, consisting of Andrew Johnson, Jakob Tordsen, Josh Sims, and Thomas Schauerman, previously earned a best time of 3:25.83 together at the SDSU D2 Open in January, 2022.
The participants of Group B, Arik Johnson, Priestly Jibunor, Calder Erick, Taaron Rudzitis, Matthew Helser, or Emmett Faltesek, and Group C, Nate Segura, Cullen Feist, Peyton Enders, Jackson Klocow, Matthew Thomforde, or Travis Andrews, are yet to be set.
On the women's side, the group of Cece Lewis, Christabelle Mulcahy, Sydney Jackson, Jaid Perry, Destiny Mattingly, or Isabella D'Burke will compete in the event. The group has a previous best of 4:09.52 from the Mark Schuck Open and Multi only a few weeks ago and will look to improve upon that time.
Aside from the relay events, the Golden Bears will compete in 28 other events in Mankato.
The men will have 32 athletes who will compete in the 60m dash, the 200m dash, the 400m dash, the 600m run, the 800m run, the 1000m run, the one mile run, the 5000m run, the 60m hurdles, the high jump, the pole vault, the long jump, the shot put and the weight throw.
Twenty three female athletes will compete in the 60m dash, the 200m dash, the 400m dash, the 600m run, the 800m run, the 1000m run, the 3000m run, the 5000m run, the 60m hurdles, the high jump, the pole vault, the long jump, the shot put, and the weight throw.
Looking Ahead
"As we near the end of the indoor regular season, we are starting to get an idea of where athletes might have the best chance at qualifying for and/or placing at the conference meet. In fact, this might be the last meet for some athletes who are secure with their conference ranking and confident with their competition strategies. Those in these positions will likely rest through next week in preparation for the conference championship at the end of the month," said Coach Johnson.
The Golden Bears are expected to compete in the Phil Lundin Showshoe Open hosted by the University of Minnesota on Friday, Feb. 18 before competing in the NSIC Championships the following weekend of Feb. 25.
