ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia-St. Paul head football coach Ryan Williams has announced that 29 prep student-athletes have committed to Golden Bear football for the 2014 season. All announced recruits to join the Golden Bear football team are contingent upon admission to Concordia University and compliance with NCAA rules and certification by the NCAA eligibility center.

The 29 incoming student-athletes come from four different states led by 13 from Wisconsin. The class features 16 offensive, 13 defensive players and one special teams players.

"Last year we focused on recruiting for depth and numbers," said Coach Williams. "Because of our success in retaining the large 2013 class, and the quality and depth in that class, we were able to go after high quality athletes across the board in our 2014 recruiting class. I'm really excited about the quality we went out and got this year. With the current roster depth, we didn't have a specific need to address which helped us land the best talent across the board."

Since moving to NCAA Division II and the Northern Sun (NSIC) in 1999, the Golden Bears have captured two league championships and appeared in three Mineral Water Bowls. Williams will enter his fourth season as head football coach at Concordia in the fall of 2014.
