Concordia Career:
2016: NSIC All-Academic … played in and started all 45 games for the Golden Bears … hit .250 (38-152) on the season with 10 doubles, three homeruns and 19 RBI which contributed to his .375 slugging percentage … finished the year with a .312 on-base percentage while also scoring 23 runs which ranked fifth on the team … led the team with a .298 average against left-handed pitching … was second on the team with 87 assists … finished with seven multi-hit games on the year … put together an eight game hitting streak from Apr. 13 to Apr. 20 and then closed the season with a nine game hitting streak from May 6 to May 15 … put together three two-RBI games against Bemidji State (3/25), University of Mary (4/3), and at Winona State (5/6) … went 2-3 against Bemidji State on Mar. 25 with a pair of RBI, a double and a homerun … went 2-4 at Winona State on May 6 with a RBI, two doubles and two runs scored … finished his career ranked third all-time in program history in assists (267).

Is a two-sport star for the Trojans, earning four letters in baseball and three in football ... coached by former MLB catcher Terry Steinbach ... is also a Golden Bear football commit ... the 2011 South Hennepin Legion Pitcher of the Year on the diamond ... a 2011 All-State, All-Metro First Team and All-Conference performer on the gridiron ... helped Wayzata to a 2010 MSHSL Class 5A State Football Championship ... Trojans went 20-0 with Poppitz starting at inside linebacker ... made 97 tackles, 19.0 tackles for loss in nine games as a senior.
Personal:
Born November 14, 1993 ... son of Mark Poppitz and Betty Good ... was a two-sport athlete as a freshman, redshirting with the football team as a linebacker and earning Defensive Scout Player of the Week honors during his first week of football practice ... an accounting major at Concordia, a Dean's List student and recipient of President's Scholarship ... his father, Mark, played football at Mankato State in 1971 ... his uncle, Rick, played football at Mankato State from 1970-73.
