DULUTH, Minn. – The Concordia-St. Paul men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up competition at the 2026 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Outdoor Championships on Saturday afternoon at Malosky Stadium on the campus of Minnesota Duluth.

The Golden Bear men collected a total of 58 points, good for seventh place in the 12-team field. The CSP women placed 11th out of 15 with a final tally of 33 points. The team scores mark improvement for both squads, as the men finished with 42 points while the women collected 27 points a season ago.

The Golden Bears were highlighted by their seventh All-NSIC performance of the weekend on the third and final day of the Championships, with senior Nyadio Chan finishing second in the 800-meter finals. Chan took even more time off of her school record that she set just a day prior in the preliminary round, finishing in 2:11.24. That time is an NCAA provisional qualifier that ranks 63rd in Division II this season.

Concordia's seven outdoor all-conference selections mark its most since 2024, when it had 10 (six women, four men).

Sophomore Cam Mata, who claimed an all-conference nod in the long jump on Friday, narrowly missed out on All-NSIC honors in a second event on Saturday as he finished fourth in the 100-meter dash finals with a time of 10.58 seconds.

Freshman Jayden Kuhlman earned points for Concordia at his first NSIC Outdoor Championships, placing sixth in the 400-meter dash finals with a time of 48.60 seconds.

In the men's triple jump, sophomore Fadel Johnson Jr. secured a sixth-place finish with a distance of 46' 4".

Concordia also earned points in three separate relays on Saturday. On the men's side, the 4x100-meter squad of Jerry Chanzu, Tre Doran, John Schmitz, and Cam Mata placed fifth and the 4x400-meter relay team of John Schmitz, Jayden Kuhlman, Zay Acosta, and James Howard finished in sixth place. For the women, the 4x100-meter relay team of Nevaeh Coffer, Desiree Loyd, Ella Frieling, and Sophia Crespo placed eighth.

Selections for the 2026 Division II men's and women's outdoor track and field championships will be revealed on Tuesday, May 12, via a press release on NCAA.com. Qualifying marks from Thursday, Feb. 19, to Sunday, May 10 will be considered. The Golden Bears currently have three athletes in the national top 25 in three separate events.
