DULUTH, Minn. – The Concordia-St. Paul men's and women's track and field teams continued competition at the 2026 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Outdoor Championships on Friday afternoon at Malosky Stadium on the campus of Minnesota Duluth.

Through the first two days of events, the Golden Bear men sit in second place with 39 points, while the women rank fourth with 24 points. Concordia athletes secured a total of six All-NSIC selections on day two.

Junior Mehlayna Straub etched her name in the NSIC history books in the heptathlon, becoming the first conference champion for the CSP women's team since Arika Harbo won both the heptathlon and high jump in 2024. Straub collected a new personal record 5218 points to claim first place, winning four of the seven events and setting a new personal record time of 2:28.22 in the 800-meter. Her score is also an NCAA provisional qualifying mark that currently ranks 10th in all of Division II. Sophomore Cam Mata was outstanding in the long jump for the Golden Bears, earning All-NSIC honors with a second-place finish in the long jump. His distance of 24' 10" matched his personal record and was an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. Mata also placed third in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash, clocking a time of 10.56 seconds to earn a spot in Saturday's finals.

Senior Carter Krummen earned All-NSIC honors in the hammer throw, setting a new personal record with a distance of 191' 8" to place second. His distance is an NCAA provisional qualifying mark that ranks 40th in Division II.

In the men's decathlon, senior Jeffrey Odamtten shattered his personal record and earned All-NSIC honors, securing third place with a score of 6290 points. Odamtten was lifted by second-place finishes in the 100-meter dash, shot put, and discus throw.
