INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The second edition of the NCAA Women's Golf Central Region Rankings was released this afternoon. In the first ranked edition of the rankings, the Concordia-St. Paul women's golf team slotted in 20th, and a total of five NSIC teams were featured in the ranking.
A total of 20 teams are listed and the top 18 teams for the region will compete at the NCAA Central Regional, which is set to take place May 4-6 at the St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Missouri.
The highest ranked NSIC squad is Minnesota State at 11th, followed by Winona State at 14, Wayne State at 15, Augustana at 17 and CSP at 20.
The Golden Bears ranking comes after a sixth place finish at the Firekeeper Open in Mayetta, Kansas this past weekend. CSP carded a collective 926 (+62) across all three rounds, posting the third lowest three round score in program history.
CSP is set to compete at the NSIC Preview at the Adams Point Golf Course in Blue Springs, Missouri on Monday, March 30 and Tuesday, March 31.
Four 54 hole tournaments will be conducted to determine the participants in the championship finals. Eighteen teams in the east, central, south and west regions; along with six individuals not on those teams, will compete at the regionals.
The NCAA Women's Golf Championships will take place on May 12-16 at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
