BURNSVILLE, Minn. — The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced that 794 student-athletes have earned NSIC All-Academic honors for the 2020-21 winter athletic season; 482 student-athletes were named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence, while 312 earned NSIC All-Academic Team honors.
Concordia-St. Paul had 37 selections including 25 of those earning NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence honors. The 37 selections are eight more than last year's 29 selections and just two short of the team record 39 selections in 2018-19. The 25 selections to the team of excellence were also an improvement from least year, increasing by three.
To be eligible for the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence, a student-athlete must have a 3.60 cumulative GPA or higher, while NSIC All-Academic Team members must have a 3.20 cumulative GPA or higher.
Additionally, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at her/his institution (true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible) and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.
The 794 across the league is an increase of 105 from last winter's 689, while the 482 named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence is an increase of 82 student-athletes.
