Allen earns back-to-back NSIC Athlete of the Week Honors

Allen named NSIC Men's Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after a record breaking week

BURNSVILLE, Minn. - After breaking the meet record and the CSP record in the 800m at the SDSU DII Invite this past weekend, senior Benjamin Allen has been selected as the NSIC Men's Track Athlete of the Week. The release by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference marks the second week in a row that Allen has been recognized for his performance and awarded athlete of the week.

Benjamin Allen (Distance, Sr., North St. Paul, Minn. / North St. Paul HS)
Concordia-St. Paul

- Broke the school record and the meet record at the SDSU DII Invitational  with a time of 1:52.41 in the 800m
- Ranks 11th in Division II and surpasses the NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 1:53.06
- Finished in first-place to earn 10 points for the Golden Bears, contributing to an 8th place team finish for CSP
- Named NSIC Track Athlete of the Week for the second week in row

NSIC Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Tanner Berg (Throws, Jr., Watertown, S.D. / Watertown HS)
Northern State

- Won the weight throw at the SDSU DII Invitational  with a heave of 68-7.25 (20.91m)
- The throw surpasses the NCAA provisional mark of 58-0.25 (17.68m)
- The throw ranks fourth in the nation this season in Division II
- Placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 49-5-75 (15.08m)
- Named NSIC Field Athlete of the Week for the second week in row

Other Top Track Performances
Austin Miller (AUGIE) took home first-place in the 1,000m at the SDSU DII Invitational with a personal best time of 2:29.21.
Drew Lewison, Kyle Mason, Zach Henke and Caden Hofacker (MSU) won the 4X400 relay at the SDSU DII Invitational with a time of 3:19.78. 
Ty Dawkins (MSUM) won the 60-meter dash at the BSU Open with time of 6.98 which is fifth-best in NSIC; Was part of the winning 4x400 relay which ran a time of 3:29.06, fifth-best in NSIC; Also placed third in 400 meters at SDSU D2 Invite on Friday with a time of 49.32 which is third-best in NSIC.
Isaiha Fletcher (NSU) ran the 400m and was able to grab first place with a time of 48.83 at the SDSU DII Invite; Continued with his top-3 finish in the 200m with a time of 22.08 seconds.
Jacob Morse (USF) won the 60m hurdles at the SDSU DII Invite with a time of 8.13; The time is an NCAA provision mark and ranks 12th best in the nation this season.

Other Top Field Performances
Connor Clayton (AUGIE) took home first-place in the triple jump at the SDSU DII Invitational with a distance of 45-1.5 (13.75m), which ranks fifth best in the NSIC this season.
Caleb Kath (MSU) won the long jump at the SDSU DII Invitational with a leap of 23-5.25 (7.14m). The jump is an NCAA provisional mark and would rank 25th best in the nation; Best jump of the year came at the MSU Invite at 23-6.25 (7.17m) which ranks 19th in the nation.
Chris Cook (MSUM) won the high jump at SDSU DII Invitational with leap of 6-8.75 (2.05m). He is tied for ninth-best high jump in nation with 6-10.25 (2.09m) from a jump at the Dakota Classic earlier this season. 
Tristan Zawadzki (USF) won the pole vault at the SDSU DII Invitational with a mark of 15-8.25 (4.78m).  The vault is an NCAA provisional mark and ranks 23rd in the nation. 
Ben Allen (WSC) won the shot put at the SDSU DII Invitational with a season best mark of 51-8.5 (15.76m), which currently ranks him second in the NSIC rankings
