BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) has announced its All-Academic teams for the 2019 spring season and Concordia-St. Paul had a record number 65 athletes earn the honor.
 
This is the fourth straight year that the Golden Bears have had 50 selections or more, but the first year that they have surpassed 60. Their 65 representatives is 14 more than were selected last season and is almost double the number selected five seasons ago.
 
To be eligible for this honor, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better. Furthermore, the athlete must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at her/his institution (true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible) and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.
 
This year, those with a 3.60 GPA or higher are named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence. Over half of CSP's All-Academic selections (37) were named to this Team of Excellence.
 
Baseball (17), men's track and field (16), and women's track and field (13) led the way for Concordia, with a double digit number of athletes earning a spot on the conference All-Academic Team. Softball had nine athletes represented, women's golf had five, and men's golf had four.
