LAKE CITY, Minn. — The Concordia-St. Paul women's golf team notched a third place finish at the Jewel Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. The Golden Bears used a 321 (+33) second round to card a 633 (+57) at the Jewel Golf Course.
Addi Wood led the way for CSP with a 74 (+2) second round to shoot a 146 (+2) for the tournament, finishing in first place on the individual leaderboard for the second week in a row. Wood took home individual medalist honors as well, finishing with a two stroke lead at the end of 36 holes.
The sophomore played a clean round of golf with a total of 16 pars on the scorecard in round two to go along with 12 in round one and three total birdies. Across both rounds Wood notched 28 total pars, three more than any other golfer.
Starting on the back nine, Wood opened the day with a run of 12 straight pars, before dropping a shot on hole four, ending the round with a 36 on the back nine and 38 on the front nine. It is the second career individual medalist honor for the sophomore in addition to being her 10th career top five finish. 146 is also tied for the fourth lowest two round score in program history with her own two-over-par finish at last season's Grace Shin Invite.
Ella Matzke shot an 80 (+8) in round two for a 36 hole score of 158 (+14) and an 18th place finish. Matzke birdied once in round two on the 510 yard, par five, first hole while recording nine pars.
Mila Jenniges finished with a second round score of 82 (+10) to card a 164 (+20) for the tournament, finishing in 31st place. Jenniges birdied once on hole 17, while recording eight pars.
Lexi O'Donnell rounded out the scoring for CSP with a 85 (+13) second round and a 165 (+21) 36 hole score for a 32nd place finish. Addy Timm was the final member of th CSP five, shooting a 94 (+22) in round two to score a 181 (+37) for the tournament.
Maddy Vang competed independently and shot a 95 (+23) in round two and a 189 (+45) across both rounds.
Augustana took home the team title with a 610 (+34) score across both rounds to finish with a five stroke lead on second place Sioux Falls. CSP finished in third place, one stroke ahead of both Upper Iowa and Minnesota State.
The Golden Bears return to action on Monday, October 5 when they head to Edmond, Oklahoma for the Grace Shin Invite hosted by Central Oklahoma at the Golf Club of Edmond.
