HUDSON, Wis. — The Concordia-St. Paul women's golf team ended round one of the CSP/MSU Fall Brawl in third place, shooting a collective 323 (+39) at the Troy Burne Golf Club. The Golden Bears battled windy and rainy conditions all afternoon, ending the day four strokes back of the team lead. 

Addi Wood put together a 76 (+5) first round to finish the afternoon in a tie for first place individually. Wood was consistent throughout the opening round, making par on 11 holes while adding one birdie on the 531 yard, par five, 16th hole, the fourth hardest hole on the course that saw just three birdies in round one. 

Ella Matzke ended the day inside the top 10 as well, putting together a 78 (+7) first round to sit in a tie for fifth place. Matzke was consistent as well, leading the field with 12 pars in the opening round, while shooting a 38 on the front nine and 40 on the back nine. 

In her collegiate debut Lexi O'Donnell carded a 83 (+12) finishing the day in a tie for 27th place while notching one birdie on the 530 yard, par five, first hole. Mila Jenniges made her CSP debut as well, shooting a 86 (+15) in round one to finish the afternoon in a tie for 41st place. 

Maddy Vang was the final member of the CSP five and the freshman shot a 90 (+19) in her first round of collegiate golf. 

Freshman Addy Timm competed independently and shot a 85 (+14) with two birdies on holes 13 and 15 to end the day in a tie for 38th place. 

A pair of Division III programs in UW-Stout and St. Kate's lead the pack through 18 holes of play, as both the Blue Devils and Wildcats shot a collective 319 (+35) in the opening round. 

CSP leads among Division II and NSIC competitors with a two stroke lead on Pittsburg State and Minnesota State who are tied for fourth. 

Tied atop the individual leaderboard with Addi Wood is Wayne State's Molly Goc who shot a 76 (+5) in round one as well. 

The second and final round of the CSP/MSU Fall Brawl gets underway tomorrow morning with a 9 a.m. shotgun start at the Troy Burne Golf Club.
