ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Through two rounds of play at the NCAA Central Regional the Concordia-St. Paul women's golf team sits in a tie for 11th place after carding a 322 (+34). The Golden Bears now have a two round score of 638 (+62) with one round left to play at the St. Joseph Country Club.
Senior Piper Hill led the way individually for CSP, shooting a 79 (+7) in the second round with nine pars and one birdie on the scorecard. Hill's lone birdie of the afternoon came on the 358 yard, par four, 12th hole. The senior shot a 40 on the front nine, before putting together a 39 on the back nine to end the day in a tie for 22nd place.
Through two rounds of play Hill has a score of 156 (+12) entering the final round of play.
Ella Matzke shot a 79 (+7) in round two as well, putting two birdies on the scorecard with both coming on the front nine. Matzke birdied on back-to-back holes on six and seven to shoot a 39 on the front nine before shooting a 40 on the back nine.
Matzke now has a two round score of 162 (+18) through two rounds of play and the junior sits in a tie for 55th place entering the final round of play.
Darby Barstad shot an 82 (+10) in round two, collecting 11 pars in round two while shooting a 40 on the front nine and a 42 on the back nine. Barstad's 79 puts her two round total at 163 (+19) and in a tie for 63rd place entering round three.
Rebecca DeLong rounded out the scoring for CSP with a 82 (+10) in the second round. DeLong notched 10 pars in round two with six coming on the back nine, where she shot a 40. Through two rounds DeLong has a score of 168 (+24), she is in 80th place entering the final round of play.
Addi Wood was the final member of the CSP five and the freshman carded a 83 (+11) in the second round. Wood birdied once on the par five sixth hole, while adding nine pars to her scorecard. Through two rounds of play wood has a score of 158 (+14), she is in a tie for 32nd place.
CSP currently sits in a tie with Harding for 11th place while sitting one stroke behind Central Missouri for 10th place.
Rogers State ended the day atop the team leaderboard after putting together a 308 (+20) second round, the Hillcats are shooting a 617 (+41) through two rounds and have a one stroke lead on second place Minnesota State.
Northwest Missouri and Southwest Oklahoma State are tied for sixth at 625 (+49), the top five teams in the regional advance to the NCAA Championships.
Freya Sala of Southwest Oklahoma State leads the individual competition through two rounds of play with a score of 147 (+3). The top two individuals not on an advancing team will also move on to the NCAA Championships.
The final round of play at the NCAA Central Regional gets underway tomorrow morning at the St. Joseph Country Club. The Golden Bears are set to tee off at 9:40 a.m.
