CSP women’s golf ends season with a 12th place finish at the NCAA Central Regional

The Golden Bears wrapped up a historic season with a 322 (+34) at the St. Joseph Country Club.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — The Concordia-St. Paul women's golf team's season came to end on Wednesday afternoon with a 12th place finish at the NCAA Central Regional. The Golden Bears shot a 322 (+34), finishing the tournament with a three round score of 960 (+96). 

CSP's three round score of 960 marks the third best score at the NCAA Central Regional in program history, besting the 964 at the 2014 NCAA Super Regional Tournament, where they finished seventh. 

Senior Piper Hill capped off her four year career at CSP with a 79 (+7) third round, putting together a three round score of 235 (+19), to finish in a tie for 20th place. Hill notched10 pars in the final round and capped off the day with a birdie on the 480 yard, par five, 18th hole. Hill totaled six birdies across all three rounds, tied for the eighth most at the tournament. 

Hill's 54 hole score of 234 is the second lowest of her career, bested only by the 230 she shot at the Firekeeper Open this season. 

Darby Barstad shot a 79 (+7) in her final round as well, to card a 242 (+26) for the tournament, finishing in a tie for 49th place. Barstad's 242 is a new 54 hole career hole, beating out her previous three round best of 245 at the 2025 NSIC Championships. 

Barstad tallied two birdies in the afternoon, both coming on the front nine on holes two and six. The senior finished the tournament with a total of six birdies, which was tied for the eighth most among the competition. 

Ella Matzke shot an 81 (+9) in the final round for a three round score of 243 (+27) across all three rounds, to finish in a tie for 57th place. Matzke made par on seven of her first nine holes to card a 40 at the turn. On the back nine, Matzke added her lon birdie of the day on the 352 yard, par four, 15th hole. 

Rebecca DeLong was the final scoring member for CSP on Tuesday afternoon, shooting a 83 (+11) in round three, to card a 251 (+35) finishing in a tie for 82nd place. DeLong Parred nine holes in the final round of play to notch the second lowest 54 hole score of her career, behind only her 233 at the NSIC Championships earlier this season. 

Addi Wood rounded out the CSP five with a 85 (+13) in the final round and a three round total of 243 (+27) to finish in a tie for 57th place. 

Southwest Oklahoma State took home the NCAA Central Regional crown with a three round score of 926 (+62), finishing with a two stroke lead on second place Nebraska Kearney. Roger State, Minnesota State and Arkansas Tech finished in third through fifth place to punch their ticket to the NCAA Championships as well. 

Freya Sala of Southwest Oklahoma State carded a 221 (+5) across all three rounds to take home the individual title. 

CSP finishes the 2025-26 season with a four player scoring average of 314.o which is the best mark in program history, beating out the previous record of 322.0 set by the 2008-09 squad.
