MINNEAPOLIS – The Concordia-St. Paul men's and women's track and field teams competed alongside athletes from NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA at the Gary Wilson Invitational on the campus of the University of Minnesota on Wednesday afternoon.

The biggest highlight of the day for Concordia came in the men's long jump, where sophomore Cam Mata shattered the CSP record with a distance of 24' 10" (7.57m) to place third overall and first among Division II competitors. His distance broke the previous Concordia record of 23' 11.5" set by Andrew Johnson in 2022. After a wind conversion, his distance of 24' 3.75" is still an NCAA provisional qualifier that currently ranks 26th in all of Division II.

In the 400-meter dash, freshman Jayden Kuhlman established a new personal record with a time of 48.34 seconds to claim CSP's lone event victory of the day.

Senior Cade Feist recorded an NCAA provisional qualifying distance in the shot put for the second consecutive meet, using a toss of 56' 0" (17.07m) to place second overall and first among DII participants. His season-high distance of 57' 0" (17.37m) set last week remains the 16th-best in all of Division II this year.

In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, senior Ethan Blischke set a new personal record with a time of 9:43.08, good for fifth place overall and first among DII competitors.

Junior Josh Krummel also set a new personal record, clocking a time of 4:17.91 in the 1,500-meter to claim sixth place.

Sophomore Kayla Anderson was the top overall finisher for the Concordia women, placing sixth in the 1500-meter with a new personal-best time of 5:04.72.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Karlina Zimmerman, Nyadio Chan, Sophia Crespo, and Ella Frieling placed third, clocking a time of 3:59.65.

The Golden Bears will compete again this week at the Rider/Bolstorff Invite hosted by Macalester College on Saturday in St. Paul, Minn.
