ST. PAUL, MINN. - Concordia-St. Paul sophomore
Cam Mata has qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in the long jump.
Student-athletes qualified for the championships by reaching a provisional standard established for each event. For each individual event contested, the top 18 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition, the top 12 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted, and for the heptathlon and pentathlon the top 16 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. The NCAA Indoor Championships are scheduled for Friday, March 13, and Saturday, March 14, in Virginia Beach, Va. at the Virginia Beach Sports Complex. The men's long jump is scheduled to begin at 4:10 pm on Friday. A full schedule of events can be found

It marks Mata's first appearance at the national meet. At the NSIC Indoor Championships last weekend, Mata placed fourth with a distance of 23' 10.75". Earlier this season at the Mark Schuck Open, Mata broke the Concordia indoor long jump record with a distance of 24' 2.25". With that distance, Mata ranks 16
th among the 18 competitors selected to the field.
