Golden Bears end the day in 17th at Tommy Riggs Invite

Josh Esterley ended the day in 46th place through two rounds for CSP.

PITTSBURG, Kan. — The Concordia-St. Paul men's golf team completed rounds one and two at the Tommy Riggs Collegiate Invitational this afternoon. The Golden Bears posted a two round score of 648 (+72), shooting a 327 (+39) in round one and a 321 (+33) in round two to finish the day in 17th place as a team at the Crestwood Country Club. 

Josh Esterley finished the day as CSP's highest ranked individual golfer, carding a 157 (+13) across both rounds and in 46th place. Esterley carded a 82 (+10) in the opening round with three birdies on the back nine, before shooting a 75 (+3) in round two where he notched a birdie and 13 pars to cap off the afternoon. 

Senior Trey Timm is in 67th place through two rounds of play after carding a 161 (+17) across the opening two rounds. Timm started the day by shooting a 80 (+8) in  the opening round, adding one birdie and nine pars to the scorecard, before shooting a 81 (+9) in round two to close out the day. 

Cale Thompson carded identical scores of 82 (+10) in rounds one and two for a two round score of 164 (+20) putting him in 79th place at the end on day one. 

Chase Camilli shot an 83 (+11) in both rounds to card a 166 (+22) and end the day in 87th place. Camilli managed one birdie on the par five second hole in the opening round, before adding two to the scorecard in round two on holes seven and 17. 

Freshman Carson Boe shot a 83 (+11) in the opening round before shooting a 87 (+15) in round two, carding a 170 (+26) and ending the day in 93rd place rounding out the CSP five. 

Sean Leutner competed independently and carded a 159 (+15) across both rounds, finishing the day in 56th place. Leutner shot a 80 (+8) in round one with an eagle on the par four, fourth hole before turning in a 79 (+7) performance in round two. 

Central Oklahoma finished the day atop the team leaderboard after carding a 597 (+21) across both rounds to finish the day with a four stroke lead.  Winona State finished the day as the top NSIC squad in fourth place shooting a collective 33 over par. 

Rhett Hughes of Central Oklahoma finished the afternoon atop the individual leaderboard after carding a 146 (+2) across both rounds, shooting identical scores of 73 (+1) in both rounds. Peyton Coahran of Winona State is the top NSIC competitor through two rounds, carding a 148 (+4) at the end of day one. 

The final day of competition at the Tommy Riggs Collegiate Invitational gets underway tomorrow morning at the Crestwood Country Club in Pittsburg, Kansas.
