ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Concordia-St. Paul women's golf team heads down to Kearney, Nebraska for the UNK Central Regional Preview next week. The three-round tournament is set to take place Sunday, October 11 through Tuesday, October 13 at the Meadowlark Hills Golf Course in Kearney, Nebraska.
Tournament and Course Information
Established in 1993 and proudly operated by the city of Kearney, Meadowlark Hills Golf Course is a premier championship 18-hole public golf facility that offers an exceptional experience for golfers of all skill levels. The course plays to a par 71 for men and a par 72 for women and is beautifully situated atop the bluffs overlooking the scenic Platte River Valley.
Meadowlark Hills has earned the reputation as one of Nebraska's premier tournament venues. The course has proudly hosted the NSAA Boys State Golf Championships five times, welcomes the prestigious Nebraska Junior Amateur Championship twice, and has been selected to host the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Regional Championships in 2027.
20 teams are slated to make the trip to Kearney for the Central Region Preview, with CSP, Oklahoma Baptist, Southeastern Oklahoma, Northeastern State, Northwest Missouri, Southeast Missouri, Pittsburg State, Central Oklahoma, Rogers State, Central Missouri, Wayne State, Northwestern Oklahoma, Nebraska-Kearney, Washburn, Southwest Minnesota State, Southwestern Oklahoma, Missouri Western, Minnesota-Crookston, Minnesota State and Arkansas Tech making up the field.
Golden Bears return to Region Preview
The last time the CSP women's golf team competed at the Central Region Preview was the 2022-23 season when they finished seventh with a team score of 651 (+75). Isabella Dory led the Golden Bears individually with a two-round score of 153 (+9) finishing in fifth place.
Wood named NSIC Women's Golfer of the Week
After finishing in second place at the Grace Shin Invitational and recording a new program record 36 hole score of 140 (-2), sophomore Addi Wood was named NSIC Women's Golfer of the Week. Across both rounds of the tournament Wood notched eight birdies and 22 pars, finishing first among NSIC competitors and earning her second weekly award of the season.
Last Time Out
As a team the Golden Bears finished 10th in a field of 21 teams at the Grace Shin Invitational with a team score of 609 (+41). The two-round score is the fourth lowest in team history, finishing just behind their 616 (+40) at last season's SMSU Spring Invite.
Addi Wood's 140 (-2) score led the way as the sophomore finished in second place. Mila Jenniges put together a 155 (+13) 36 hole score, behind a 74 (+3) second round to finish in 55th place.
Ella Matzke managed a 156 (+14) to finish in 56th place at the tournament, while Lexi O'Donnell carded a 165 (+23). Hattie Hemthong carded a 160 (+18), to finish in 72nd place in her first tournament as a Golden Bear.
