WEST FARGO, N.D. - The Concordia-St. Paul women's swimming and diving team opened up day one of the Dragon Invite with 14 top-five finishes to sit in first-place on Friday evening at the Hulbert Aquatic Center.

The Navy and Gold tallied 524 points on day one to sit 132 points ahead of MSU Moorhead in second place. 

Senior Chloe Rihon and junior Sierra Sherry each recorded a first-place finish in their respective events to lead the day one effort. Rihon took the top spot in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:07.75 for her fourth win of the season. 

Sherry secured her first top finish of her collegiate career, coming in with a time of 11:26.03 in the 1000-yard freestyle. Her first-place finish marked the team's first 1000-yard event win of the season. 

On the diving board, sophomores Mina Dahl and Reese Bjorklund saw their highest placements of the season, finishing third and fifth respectively. 

As a team, Concordia contributed 14 top-five and 38 top-10 placements to conclude their strong day one performance. 

The Golden Bears will return to action tomorrow at 10 a.m. for prelims with their best times still on the horizon. Day two finals will take place at 4 p.m. to conclude the Dragon Invite.
