ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul women's swimming and diving team gears up for the Dragon Invite hosted by MSU Moorhead starting on Friday at the Hulbert Aquatic Center in West Fargo, N.D.
The meet is scheduled to take place on Friday, Jan. 16 with finals starting at 5 p.m. The meet will continue on Sat, Jan. 17 with 10 a.m. prelims and 4 p.m. finals.Â
Head coach, Rachel Busch on the meet, "We always look forward to competing at the Dragon Invite because it allows us to race and dive in the same pool as the NSIC Championships. The women put in a tremendous amount of hard work over the break and in Florida, and I have no doubt they will deliver a strong performance this weekend."

FIU Sprint Invite
The Golden Bears opened 2026 with an impressive third-place finish at the FIU Sprint Invite, competing against a strong field of NCAA Division I institutions.
The Navy and Gold were led by another standout performance from junior Sophie Leo who tallied two top-two placements in both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle finishing with the highest placements of the meet.Â
Lilly Adams and Chloe Rihon both recorded fifth place finishes to wrap-up the top-five placements for the Navy and Gold.
On the diving side, Chloe Jones was the leader on the board with a 16th place finish in the 3-meter dive and 18th place finish in the 1-meter dive against a stacked diving competition.Â
As a team, CSP notched 22 top-10 finishes for their highest-placement to date at the FIU Sprint Invite after finishing in fourth last season.Â
SOPHIE SURGES AHEAD
Sophie Leo has been a spark in the pool throughout the season and has notched nine first-place finishes to bring her collegiate total to 29, cementing herself as a swimmer to watch at each meet.
Leo has recorded three NSIC Swimmer of the Week accolades this far and tallied two second-place finishes at the FIU Sprint Invite against a field compiled of NCAA Division I student-athletes.
MEET INFORMATION
The meet will consist of four teams, all but one who compete at the NCAA Division II level and swim as part of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).Â
Participating schools include Concordia Moorhead (NCAA Division III), MSU Moorhead, Jamestown and Concordia-St. Paul.Â
Scoring for the meet will be as follows: Top-16 individuals will earn points with each team being able to score three relays and six individuals per event.Â
Diving will take place on both days of competition with Friday featuring the 1-Meter and Saturday the 3-Meter. Divers will participate in 11 dives with six optionals and five voluntary dives.

HISTORY AT THE DRAGON INVITE
The Golden Bears have participated in the Dragon Invite four times, increasing their score each year since their first appearance in 2022 where they took fifth-place with 408 points.Â
The Navy and Gold returned in 2023 where they saw a jump to a third-place finish with 702 points and added 178.5 points in 2024, moving up to a second-place finish with 880.5 total points.Â
Last season, CSP saw a runner-up finish for the second consecutive year with their highest score of 890.5 points.Â
CSP VS. THE FIELD
Concordia Moorhead: The two teams have never faced in dual action but have participated in many invites together. This season the two programs faced in the St. Kate's Pentathlon where CSP took the top spot with 6,514 points and the Cobbers found themselves in fifth place with 634 points.Â
MSU Moorhead: The two teams have met a total of four times in dual action including earlier this season where CSP fell 163-137 against the Dragons in November. At last year's Dragon Invite, CSP edged out the Dragons 890.5 to 880 for a second place finish.Â
Jamestown: The two teams have never met in dual action but they have competed in multiple of the same invites. This season the two programs both participated in the WildBear Invite where CSP took the top spot with 1,475.5 points and Jimmies came in at third with 621 points.
