AUSTIN, Texas – College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) released its Academic All-America® men's track and field teams on Wednesday morning and Concordia-St. Paul senior multi-athlete
Calder Erick was named to the second team for the first time in his career.
Erick capped off his impressive career this season with an NSIC title and a USTFCCCA Second Team All-America nod in the indoor heptathlon. He also qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the outdoor decathlon, finishing 15th. In 2024, Erick captured his first NSIC title with a first-place finish in the decathlon at the conference's outdoor championships. He has also earned CSC Academic All-District honors in each of the past three seasons.
With the selection, Erick becomes the ninth Academic All-American in CSP track & field history and the fifth in the history of the men's program, following Kyle Warren (First Team, 2006-07), Cole Oslin (Second Team, 2019-20), Benjamin Allen (Second Team, 2020-21), and Jakob Tordsen (Second Team, 2022-23).
Duke's Simen Guttormsen, Colorado School of Mines' Loic Scomparin, John Carroll's Basheer Alramahi, and University of the Cumberlands' Luca Madeo were named as the Academic All-America® Team Members of the Year for NCAA Divisions I, II and III, and NAIA, respectively.
