Golden Bear men have five earn CSC Academic All-District honors

Blischke, Erick, Hugo, Krummel, and Otto each secure selections

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Concordia-St. Paul men's track & field and cross country teams had five student-athletes named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Teams, it was announced on Tuesday. The CSC Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom.
 
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. The Men's Track and Field/XC first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on July 16.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. 
Ethan Blischke (Distance, Jr., 6-4, Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha West HS)
  • 2024-25 CSC Academic All-District
  • Four-time NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence
  • Finished eighth in the 3000m steeplechase at the NSIC Outdoor Championships
  • Finished 153rd at the NCAA Central Region Cross Country Championships
  • Ranked 32nd in the region in the outdoor 3000m steeplechase
  • Ranked 49th in the region in the indoor 5000m

Calder Erick (Multi-Event,Sr., 5-11, Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake Area HS)

  • 2025 USTFCCCA Second Team All-America in the indoor heptathlon

  • 2024 All-NSIC in the indoor heptathlon
  • Two-time NCAA Championships qualifier
  • Two-time NSIC Field Athlete of the Week
  • Set the school record in the outdoor 400m hurdles (54.00 seconds)
  • Two-time CSC Academic All-District
  • Three-time NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence honoree
  • NSIC Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction Award recipient

 Will Hugo (Multi-Event, So., 5-11, Columbia Heights, Minn./Concordia Academy)
  • 2024-25 CSC Academic All-District
  • NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence
  • Finished seventh in the decathlon at the NSIC Outdoor Championships
  • Finished eighth in the heptathlon at the NSIC Indoor Championships
  • Ranked 19th in the region in the outdoor decathlon
  • Ranked 27th in the region in the indoor heptathlon
 
 Matt Krummel (Mid/Long Distance/Cross Country, Sr., Oakdale, Minn./Tartan HS)
  • 2024-25 CSC Academic All-District
  • 2023-24 CSC Academic All-District
  • Eight-time NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence
  • Set the school record in the 3000m steeplechase (9:21.72)
  • Finished fourth in the 3000m steeplechase at the NSIC Outdoor Championships
  • Ranked 31st in the region in the 3000m Steeplechase

 Dan Otto (Throws, 5-11, Jr., Eau Claire, Wis./North HS)
  • 2024-25 CSC Academic All-District
  • 2023-24 CSC Academic All-District
  • Four-time NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence
  • Finished fourth in the shot put at the NSIC Indoor Championships
  • Finished fifth in the weight throw at the NSIC Indoor Championships
