EDMOND, Okla. - Sydney Pelzer of the Golden Bear softball team earned D2CCA All-Central Region Second Team on Monday. She becomes the 23rd player in program history to earn D2CCA All-Region honors.Â
The senior shortstop becomes the sixth D2CCA All-Region Second Team selection for the program. Annalise Scamehorn is the most recent player to earn the honor after being named to the team as a designated hitter last season.Â
Pelzer was one of seven players for the NSIC to make the D2CCA All-Region teams. Augustana (S.D.) had four selections, the most by any team in the conference. Terin Ritz of Central Oklahoma won Player of the Year and Brinson Rogers of Southern Arkansas won Pitcher of the Year.Â
This season, Pelzer earned NSIC Player of the Year. She slashed .391/.465/.744 this season with 16 doubles and 13 home runs. She broke the school record for RBIs in a season with 61 and RBIs in a career with 166.
