Pelzer earns NFCA All-Region Second Team selection

Senior shortstop earns award after record-breaking season

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Concordia-St. Paul's Sydney Pelzer was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region Second Team. The senior becomes the 18th player in program history selected for an NFCA All-Region honor. 

Pelzer is the first Second Team selection since Carlie Hart in 2018. Alexis Monty earned First Team recognition last season and earned Third Team NFCA All-American honors. 

This season, Pelzer earned NSIC Player of the Year. She slashed .391/.465/.744 this season with 16 doubles and 13 home runs. She broke the school record for RBIs in a season with 61 and RBIs in a career with 166.

The 2025 NFCA All-Region squads are comprised of 208 student-athletes from 115 programs. The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's eight regions with first and second-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated their student-athletes and voted for the teams. All the honorees are now eligible for selection to the 2025 NFCA Division II All-America squads.

The 2025 NFCA Division II All-America teams will be announced on Wednesday, May 21 at the NCAA Division II Championship Banquet in Chattanooga, Tenn.

  • Slashed .427/.484/.841 in NSIC play 
  • Had the best batting average and slugging percentage in conference play
  • Becomes 18th NFCA All-Region selection in program history
