Golden Bear softball announces one new addition on signing day

Emily Ly announced as new addition for the 2026-27 season.

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Concordia-St. Paul head softball coach Bob Bartel announced the signing of one player for the 2027 season. Emily Ly (IF, Savage, Minn.) will join the Golden Bears next fall. 

"We're thrilled to announce the signing of Emi Ly to the Golden Bear program," Head Coach Bob Bartel said. "Emi brings an extremely versatile game with her to Concordia."

Ly has seen action at shortstop, third base and second base as a member of the Bloomington Jefferson softball team. Posting a .380/.444/1.008 slash line in 84 plate appearances last season, smacking 27 hits with 15 doubles and15 RBI for the Jaguars. 

"She's able to play a variety of positions defensively, and offensively will fit in with our approach perfectly," Bartel said. "Emi played for a state tournament runner-up Jefferson Jaguars and competes on a national scale during her summer seasons. We're excited to see Emi in a Golden Bear uniform for four years."

Ly has lettered four times in softball at Jefferson, being named a team captain for the Jaguars. The infielder has also earned All-Conference honors in the Metro West Conference, while being a member of the 2025 4A State Runner-Up Jaguar softball team.

Ly plans on majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology at Concordia.
