DULUTH, Minn. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Outdoor Championships wrapped up on Saturday afternoon and both the Concordia-St. Paul men and women finished in ninth place. The men tallied 42 points while the women finished with 27 points.

After a pair of Golden Bear women turned in All-NSIC performances on Friday, Emmett Faltesek became Concordia's lone All-NSIC honoree on the men's side on Saturday with a second-place finish in the 1500-meter run, clocking a time of 3:50.01 to secure eight team points.

Freshman Del Johnson moved up three spots in the men's 400-meter dash finals after finishing eighth in Friday's preliminaries, claiming fifth place to earn four team points after clocking a time of 48.09 seconds.

Senior Calder Erick took even more time off his school record in the 400-meter hurdles that he had previously set just a day ago, finishing in 54 seconds flat to place sixth and nab three team points for CSP. His time was 0.13 seconds faster than his 54.13-second record on Friday.

Junior Keyshawn Pettis secured four points for Concordia in the men's discus throw, finishing fifth with a new personal record distance of 50.87 meters (166' 10").

The Golden Bear men rounded out their scoring in the meet with a pair of relays earning points. The 4x100-meter relay team of Cam Mata, Thomas Dietel, Jake Weigel, and Andrew Wilson took sixth to secure three points and the 4x400-meter squad of Calder Erick, Priestly Jibunor, Vance Landa, and Del Johnson finished fourth to earn five team points.

On the women's side, junior Nyadio Chan placed sixth in the 800-meter run finals with a time of 2:15.62, tallying three points for the team.

The CSP women also had a pair of relay teams earn points, with the 4x100-meter team of Cadence Tanner, Chidera Osuoha, Ella Frieling, and Destiny Mattingly finishing eighth to earn a point while the 4x400-meter squad of Karlina Zimmerman, Ella Frieling, Nyadio Chan, and Destiny Mattingly also claimed eighth place and secured one point.

The Golden Bears will now await the official qualifiers for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships scheduled for May 22-24 in Pueblo, Colorado. Senior Calder Erick currently stands as the only CSP athlete in the top 20 in any event nationally, ranking 15th in the decathlon with his score of 6918 points at the Meet of Champions earlier this season.
