ROMEOVILLE, Illi. — The Concordia-St. Paul men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Lewis Invitational in Romeoville, Illinois on Saturday morning. The women's team managed a 35th place finish in the 6k, while the men's team came in 34th in the 8k.
Andrew Alexander was the top finisher for CSP on the men's side. The senior ran a 26:01.37 to come in 178th in the 8k. Alexander shaved more than a minute off of his time of 27:19.1 at the Roy Griak to set a new season best 8k time.
Andrew Boyum ran a new season best time of 26:32.27, coming in behind Alexander with a 239th place finish. Boyum also bested his 2024 Lewis Crossover time by seven seconds.
Travis Tock came in with a time of 26:50.32, setting a new season best and setting a new personal best at the Lewis Crossover. Ethan Blischke came in four seconds behind Tock with a time of 26:54.36 to finish in 277th place.
Freshman Brock Johnson finished one second behind Blischke with a time of 26:55.42, smashing his season best by nearly 40 seconds to finish in 208th place.
Zay Acosta also managed a new season best with a time of 27:20.91 to finish in 304th place. Jordan Stumm came in with a time of 28:42.21 to finish in 347th place. Josh Krummel and Matthew Urgiles-Suarez finished two seconds apart with times of 29:42.22 and 29:44.57.
Nathaniel Merrell rounded things out for the Golden Bears, coming in with a time of 31:04.95.
On the women's side, Nyadio Chan was CSP's top finisher, leading the way with a new season best 6k time of 24:37.95 to finish in 228th place.
Freshman Kayla Anderson came in behind Chan with a time of 25:08.9, setting a new season best time in the process. Lauryn Rosenthal finished in 277th place with a time of 25:29.9.
Elise Atkins smashed her previous season best time of 34:22.1 by running a 31:47.69 to finish in 332nd place.
Kathryn Stroede competed in her first race of the season, completing the 6k in 38:18.9, to finish in 335th place.
Colorado Christian took the top spot in the men's 8k team competition with 106 placement points, Saginaw Valley State placed second with 143 placement points.
The Golden Bears placed 34th, with 1030 placement points coming in ahead of Minnesota Duluth, who finished 35th with 1093 points.
Ramon Rodriguez of Tiffin was the top individual placer in the 8k, coming in with a time of 23:44.15. Matthew Storer of Colorado Christian placed second and Mario Giannini of Chico State came in third.
On the women's side Chico State took the top spot in the team competition with 100 placement points, finishing ahead of host Lewis University with 140 placement points.
The top finisher in the 6k was Hannah Hartwell of Fort Lewis, with a time of 20:45.07. Claire Rethman of Walsh placed second and Paige Mullen of Pittsburgh State came in third.
The Golden Bears now turn their attention to the NSIC Championships hosted by Wayne State in Wayne Nebraska on Friday, Oct. 24.

Andrew Boyum - 236 - 26:32.3 - Boyum ran a season best 8k time, finishing 45.6 seconds faster than at the Blugold Invitational. Set a new Lewis Crossover personal best, finishing 53.7 seconds faster than his 2024 Crossover performance.
Travis Tock - 266 - 26:50.4 - Tock ran a season best time, finishing 38.2 seconds faster than at the Blugold Invitational. Set a new Lewis Crossover personal best, beating his 2024 Crossover time by 41.1 seconds.
Ethan Blischke - 273 - 26:54.4 - Blischke ran a season best time, finishing 1:46 better than at the Roy Griak Invitational. Set a new Lewis Crossover personal best, finishing 5.6 seconds faster thanst the 2024 Crossover.
Brock Johnson - 276 - 26:55.5 - Johnson set a new personal best time, finishing 42.7 seconds better than at the Blugold Invitational.
Zay Acosta - 300 - 27:21.0 - Set new personal best time, improving his time for the 2024 NSIC Championship by five seconds. Set a new Lewis Crossover personal best, improving 32 seconds from his 2024 Crossover time.
Jordan Stumm - 343 - 28:42.3 - Set a new personal best 8k time, finishing 59.4 seconds faster than at the Blugold Invitational.
Josh Krummel - 357 - 29:42.3 - Krummel set a new season best time, besting his Blugold Invitational finish by 1:31.
