ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Concordia-St. Paul men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete at the NCAA Central Region Championships on Saturday, Nov. 8. The region championship is hosted by Missouri Southern State at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin, Missouri.
Meet Info
The women's 6k race will start at 10 a.m. with the men's 10k race following at 11:15 a.m. the field for both the men's and women's races will consist of competitors from the NSIC, MIAA and GAC.
The course is mainly flat with some light hills, the course begins with a 450 meter straight away before making multiple loops into another straight away into another loop for the second mile. On mile three the course makes a number of switchbacks, finishing up with a number of loops into a straightaway finish.
Spectator parking is available at the south lots near Fred G. Hughes Stadium and at the south campus lots located just west of Duquesne Road. Spectators can enter the course at the corner of Duquesne and Newman road or at the south football stadium entrance.
Last season
The CSP men's team finished 20th at last season's region championships in Joplin. Emmett Faltesek was the Golden Bears top runner, finishing in 61st place with a time of 32:09.4.
Andrew Alexander recorded a personal best 10k time of 33:40.6 to finish in 161st place and beat his previous personal best by 2:43.6. Ethan Blischke placed 152nd with a time of 34:10.1 and Andrew Boyum finished 156th with a time of 34:20.3.
Travis Tock ran his first career 10k, coming in with a time of 34:50.3 to finish 173rd.
The Concordia women finished 30th as a team, Nyadio Chan led the way for the Golden Bears finishing in 122nd place. The then junior set a new personal best in the 6k, coming in with a time of 23:36.3. The finish marked a 42.1 second improvement from her previous PR and was the eighth fastest 6k time by a CSP junior.
Maddy Bryant finished 162nd with a time of 24:39.6 and Anna Sajdak placed 173rd with a season best time of 24:51.5.
Last time out
Andrew Alexander led the way for CSP on the men's side at the NSIC Championships in Wayne, Nebraska. Alexander placed 18th in the men's 8k, with a time of 26:11.71 to earn All-NSIC Second Team Honors.
Andrew Boyum came in 30 seconds behind Alexander, placing 38th with a time of 26:41.94. Travis Tock placed 47th, finishing with a time of 26:58.11, a 48 spot improvement from his finish at the 2024 NSIC Championships.
Ethan Blischke came in behind Tock, finishing with a time of 27:45.30 to finish in 74th place. Matthew Urgiles-Suarez placed 96th with a time of 28:19.27 to set a new personal and season best mark.
Jordan Stumm finished with a time of 28:57.23 to place 109th, Josh Krummel came in 134th with a time of 30:11.55. Nathaniel Merrell set a new PR, with a time of 30:58.25 to place 140th, Jose Nevarez-Ramirez recorded a time of 32:28.02 finishing in 144th place.
On the women's side, Kayla Anderson was CSP's top finisher, the freshman came in with a time of 24:49.30 to finish in 79th place. Anderson set a new personal and season best time in the process, besting her previous PR at the Lewis Crossover.
Nyadio Chan finished narrowly behind Anderson, with a time of 24:52.0 in 81st place. Lauryn Rosenthal finished in 105th place with a time of 26:03.20.
Chloe Rihon set a new PR coming in with a time of 28:41.60, to finish 131st. Addy Nelson rounded things out for CSP with a time of 33:24.50.
