MANKATO, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul track & field teams saw
Thomas Dietel and
Jerry Chanzu hit NCAA provisional qualifying marks in the 200m to highlight 13 top-10 finishes on the day at the Maverick Premier #1 on the campus of Minnesota State on Friday.
Dietel and Chanzu claimed two of the team's top-five results in the meet as Dietel took second with a time of 21.96 seconds, a mark which was just 0.04 seconds shy of Kawaskii Bacon's 2009 school record of 21.92.
Jerry Chanzu followed close behind at 22.04 seconds to take fourth.
The duo of
Owen Erickson and
Will Sacay added finishes inside in top five in the 3000m as Erickson's time of 8:40.11 was good for fourth while Sacay's mark of 8:44.00 earned him fifth.
Drake Daniels provided a top-five finish of his own in the 60m hurdles as his time of 8.27 seconds put him in fifth.
Cadence Tanner was the top finisher for the women as her distance of 17' 6.25" in the long jump garnered an eighth-place result.
Destiny Mattingly and
Esther Mensah each finished 10th in their respective events as Mattingly finished the 400m in 59.10 seconds and Mensah cleared 50' 4.5" in the weight throw.
The Golden Bears wrap up the weekend back at Minnesota State tomorrow as they take part in the Maverick Premier #2. Action is set to begin at 11 a.m.
