9.26.23

LAKE CITY, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul women's golf team took third place at the Watkins Invite at The Jewel Golf Club. After starting round one on Monday, the rest of the round was postponed until Tuesday, where both rounds were played. The team golfed through the rainy elements to post a team score of 637 (+69).

Anna Tollette led the team with a seventh-place finish at 149 (+7). After a 77 (+6) in the first round, she followed it up with a strong second round shooting a 72 (+1). This was the lowest round of any CSP golfer at the tournament.

Piper Hill tied for 18th with a score of 160 (+18). After recording no birdies in the first round, Hill tallied three in the second round to shoot a score of 75 (+4). Rebecca DeLong tied for 23rd with a score of 162 (+20).

Darby Barstad tallied a score of 166 (+24) to finish in 29th. Sage Mulder tied for 48th with a score of 219 (+77).

Concordia's third-place finish was three strokes ahead of Minnesota Crookston in fourth. Minnesota State won the invite with a score of 592 (+24). That score was good enough to beat hosting Winona State by two strokes as they shot 594 (+26) as a team.

Carly Moon of Winona State won the individual race by five strokes on her home course. She shot 138 (-4) to beat Claire Schweim of Minnesota State in second place with a score of 143 (+1). Minnesota State finished with three of the top six golfers.

The Golden Bears have a quick turnaround as they will compete in Southwest Minnesota State's Mustang Invite this weekend. The tournament takes place on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at Marshall Golf Course in Marshall, Minnesota.
