CSP women’s golf takes fourth place at NSIC Preview

Addi Wood finishes in fifth place after carding a 151 (+7) across two rounds.

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. — The Concordia-St. Paul women's golf team wrapped up the second and final round of play at the NSIC Preview this afternoon. The Golden Bears shot a collective 314 (+26) in round two for a tournament score of 626 (+50) and a fourth place finish at the Adams Pointe Golf Complex. 

Addi Wood carded a 76 (+4) in the final round of play to card a 151 (+7) for the tournament, finishing in fifth place individually. Wood tallied one birdie in the second round on the par five, second hole while adding 12 pars to the scorecard. 

For Wood it is her seventh top-10 finish of the season, while also finishing inside the top five in all four tournaments the Golden Bears have competed at this spring. 

Piper Hill finished the tournament by shooting a 80 (+8) in the second round, carding a 156 (+12) across both rounds for a 15th place finish. Hill tallied one birdie on the par five, fifth hole adding nine pars to the scorecard for an eight over par second round. 

Rebecca DeLong shot a 75 (+3) in the second round for a two round score of 158 (+14), finishing in 27th place. DeLong's three over par final round moved her up 20 spots on the final day of competition thanks to three birdies on hole two, three and 14, while adding nine pars to the scorecard. 

Ella Matzke carded a 83 (+11) in round two to card a 162 (+18) for the tournament to finish in 36th place. Darby Barstad rounded out the CSP five, shooting a 85 (+13) in round two to card a 167 (+23) for the tournament, finishing in 49th place. 

Marina Allen competed individually and shot a 86 (+14) in the second round to card a 168 (+24) for the tournament, finishing in 54th place. 

Missouri Western finished in first place in the team competition, carding a collective 602 (+26) for the tournament, finishing one stroke ahead of second place Washburn. Augustana finished in third as the top NSIC squad, carding a 607 (+31) for the tournament. CSP tied Minnesota State for fourth place with a score of 626 (+50). 

Lanie Veenendall of Augustana carded back -to-back 72 (E) rounds for a tournament score of 144 (E), finishing in first place individually. 

The Golden Bears will take two weeks off before heading down to Wayne, Nebraska for the Wildcat Classic at the Wayne Country Club on Monday, April 14.
