BEMIDJI, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul women's golf team finished in third place at the Tracy Lane Memorial following a strong second day from sophomore Piper Hill.
After shooting an 82 (+10) during a rainy first day, Hill came back on day two with a score of 74 (+2), which was the best second round of any golfer at the meet. Her score of 156 (+12) tied her with Anna Cihak of Minnesota State Mankato and was two strokes behind the individual champion Emersyn Walker of North Dakota.
The top four Golden Bears golfers all finished in the top 30. Anna Tollette and Darby Barstad both tied for 16th. Tollette shot 79 (+7) in round one and 87 (+15) in round two for a total score of 166 (+22). Barstad shot 81 (+9) on day one and 85 (+13) on day two for the 166 (+22) total.
Rebecca DeLong rounded out the team with a total score of 172 (+28) tying for 26th. Sage Mulder finished in 54th place after shooting a total score of 222 (+78).
CSP finished with a final team score of 660 (+84) which was six strokes better than last season's third place finish. The Golden Bears placed second out of the seven NSIC teams that competed.
The women's golf team will return home next week on Sept. 18-19 to host the Maverick/Golden Bear Fall Brawl at the Troy Burne Golf Course in Hudson, Wisconsin.
