ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul swimming and diving team returns to the pool this weekend for the Roger Ahlman Invitational. Action from Riley Pool on the campus of Macalester College is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Head coach
Rachel Busch stated before the meet, "The team is pumped for our meet at Macalester this weekend. We are 'resting' this week for the meet - decreasing yardage and increasing rest time while still maintaining intensity. Busch added, "The women are also wearing their tech suits for the first time this season and due to their strong work ethic throughout the season so far, they are sure to pop off many season-best and life-time best times."
MEET INFORMATION
The meet will consist of nine teams across NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Participating institutions include Augsburg, Concordia-Moorhead, Concordia-St. Paul, Hamline, Jamestown, Macalester (host), Morningside, St. Kate's and St. Olaf.
Criteria for scoring the meet will be based on a championship scoring system that places the top 16. In addition, only one relay team is eligible to receive a score from each team.

Caitlyn Greenwalt made history as the first CSP diver to compete at a home meet, adding to her impressive start to the season with a pair of first-place finishes. The sophomore diver won the one-meter with a score of 218. 90 and added another top finish in the three-meter with a score of 210.50.

Farida Maher led the swimmers with 27 points. The junior claimed first-place finishes in the 100, 500 and 1650-yard freestyles.

The second-best finisher for the swimmers was
Charly Horn, who added a pair of first-place finishes in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke. In addition, the junior added a third-place finish in the 100-yard IM.

In the 200-yard medley, the team of

Savanna Honan and
Emma Granovsky finished second with a time of 1:58.69, while the team of
Deanna Ringler,
Giulia Cury,
Marianna Perna and Greenwalt finished fourth with a time of 2:15.37.

The final race of the afternoon was in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The team of Maher,
Emma Granovsky,
Chloe Rihon and
Sophie Leo finished second with a time of 3:44.65, while the team of
Sierra Sherry,
Giulia Cury,
Laura Vekony and
Marianna Perna finished fourth with a time of 4:06.44.

HISTORY AT THE ROGER AHLMAN INVITATIONAL
Concordia swimming and diving will compete at the Roger Ahlman Invitational for the third time in program history this weekend. In their inaugural showing in the 2021-22 campaign, CSP finished fifth with 245 points, highlighted by 52 point performance from Maher, who collected a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, and a 47-point performance from Vekony, who tabbed a pair of second-place finishes. Last season, the Golden Bears improved their score to 309 points to finish fourth in the meet. Maher claimed a pair of top 3 finishes to lead the Golden Bears with 45 points, while Rihon and Horn added 45 and 42 points, respectively.
