EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Concordia-St. Paul junior Sophie Leo became the most decorated swimmer in program history after tallying her third All-America honor after finishing ninth in the 100-freestyle on the final day of the 2025-26 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships at the Deaconess Aquatic Center on Saturday evening.

Sophie Leo continued her record-setting NCAA Championships, writing more history for the junior as she cemented herself as the best swimmer in Golden Bear history.

Leo earned her third All-America honor of the meet after finishing ninth in the 100-Yard Freestyle to hit her fourth lifetime best time of the meet and her fourth broken school record.

The junior won the consolation final with a time of 49.68, after qualifying for finals with a time of 50.53 during prelims. The final time if competing in the A-Final would have placed seventh.

Leo qualified for the NCAA Championships with a time of 50.31 and was slotted 17th on the invite list.

Kristina Orban from Nova Southeastern finished with a time of 49.34 to become the NCAA National Champion.

Between her four days of competition and three finals appearances, Leo recorded 29 total points for the team score, putting the Golden Bears at 20th out of 35 teams. That is 13 places higher than last season's 33rd place team score.

In total, Leo earned three All-America honors including a First-Team achievement, two Top-10 placements, three trips to finals, four school records, four lifetime best times and was the consolation winner of the 100-Free.

The junior finished the meet with the highest finishes of student-athletes from the NSIC and was the only swimmer to reach finals three times and secure three All-America honors. Augustana finished T-21st place with 28 points and Minnesota State finished 29th with 14 points.

This concludes the 2025-26 Golden Bear swimming and diving season with more momentum than ever as they wrap-up their sixth season as a program. Head coach Rachel Busch took the team to new heights this season and also saw her first career finals and All-American performances at the NCAA Championships.
