AUSTIN, Texas – Concordia-St. Paul senior
Katie Moynihan was voted to the 2022 Academic All-America® At-Large First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
She becomes the first player in the CSP women's lacrosse program history to be named a CoSIDA Academic All-American® multiple times and is also the first repeat Academic All-America® selection for the program. The program has now received three Academic All-America® honors since the 2019-20 academic year.
Moynihan is a sixth-year senior and member of the program's inaugural recruiting class with a 4.00 undergraduate grade point average with a double-major in chemistry and math. She is now pursuing her MBA while continuing her academic excellence with a 4.00 GPA in the master's program.
She is the only NCAA Division II women's lacrosse student-athlete to be named an Academic All-America® First Team selection this year and among the six women's lacrosse players nationally to garner Academic All-America® honors on any of the three teams. The At-Large program represents the following NCAA sports: beach volleyball, bowling, crew/rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming & diving, tennis and water polo.
She is one of four student-athletes to move from the Third Team in 2020-21 to the First Team in 2021-22 and one of 12 award recipients in the country to be a repeat At-Large Academic All-American®.
The award is nominated and voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America from NCAA Division II institutions. The Division II CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
