ST. PAUL, Minn. - The No. 3 seeded Concordia-St. Paul women's lacrosse team (6-10, 3-5 GLIAC) will begin postseason play this weekend at the 2026 GLIAC Lacrosse Tournament where they will face the No. 2 seeded Wildcats of Northern Michigan in the Semifinal round on Friday.
Friday's game will take place at 6:30 p.m. CT following the conclusion of the GVSU/DU matchup. Both games will be played at the GVSU Lacrosse Stadium in Allendale, Mich. with a trip to the championship on the line.
TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
The top four teams from the GLIAC lacrosse standings advance to the single-elimination tournament. The top seed will host the entire duration of the tournament with semifinal matchups taking place on Friday, May. 1. The two winners of the semifinal games will meet in the championship round on Sunday, May. 3 in a bracketed format. There will be no reseeding following the semifinal games.
Grand Valley State won its 13th GLIC Regular-Season title for the 13th year in a row and will serve as host for the duration of the tournament. The Lakers will serve as the No. 1 seed and play No. 4 seed Davenport on Friday at 4:30 p.m. No. 2 seed Northern Michigan will play No. 3 seed Concordia-St. Paul at 6:30 p.m. after the GVSU/DU semifinal game.
RECAP OF THE WEEK
Game One: NMU 15, CSP 7
Leading the offensive attack for the Golden Bears was Susie Monson and Shelby Hansen who combined for four goals and Jayde Isaacson who added two assists.
A late spark from Monson and Hansen would get the Golden Bears back within reach but the Wildcats put together a 4-0 run to put the chance of a comeback out of the door for CSP. A final minute goal from Monson would end the game in favor of NMU 15-7.
Junior goaltenders Marge Lucio and Erika Holm each split time in net during the match up, Lucio made seven saves in the first half before Holm came in for second half relief where she made three saves.
Senior Claire Flahaven led the defensive effort with two caused turnovers and four ground balls. She ended the regular-season with 32 caused turnovers and 41 ground balls.
Both teams were competitive in front of the goal but the Wildcats were able to capitalize on the scoring and out-shot the Golden Bears 25-20 on goal.
The Golden Bears forced 16 turnovers from the Wildcats but did not see a successful game at the draw, winning just seven of the 24 attempts.
HISTORY BETWEEN CSP AND NMU
The two programs have met a total of 21 times dating back to March 3, 2017 where CSP earned a 14-8 victory. The Golden Bears would go on to win the first six straight meetings before the Wildcats took the reins and hold a 13-8 all-time record.
Last season, the two teams split their regular-season meetings. CSP took game one 13-9 in St. Paul and NUM narrowly won game two 8-7 in Marquette.
The two programs met in the GLIAC Tournament Semifinals where Concordia fell 9-7 to Northern Michigan.
In the two meetings this season, the Wildcats went 2-0 by a combined 31-14.
ABOUT THE WILDCATS
Northern Michigan posted a (11-8, 4-4 GLIAC) record during the 2025 season and were picked to finish second in the GLIAC Preseason Coaches' Poll after making their third straight trip to the GLIAC Tournament Championship game.
The Wildcats currently sit at (12-5, 6-2 GLIAC) after finishing their regular-season with a 15-7 win over Concordia.
Continuing to lead the charge for Northern Michigan is junior attack Josie Lakosky who is the reigning GLIAC Attacker of the Year. Lakowsky currently leads all of NCAA Division II with a staggering 96 goals and 132 points.

HISTORY IN THE GLIAC TOURNAMENT
The Golden Bears are making their sixth all-time appearance in the GLIAC Tournament, holding a 1-5 postseason record. Concordia earns the third seed for the third time in the past four seasons after earning the second seed for the first time last season.
In 2019, the Navy and Gold made the program's first appearance where they were the No. 4 seed and hosted the quarterfinal round where they defeated No. 5 seed Davenport at Sea Foam Stadium.
Last season, Concordia earned the No. 2 seed for the first time and faced Northern Michigan for the third straight season where they fell 9-7 in a tight contest.
The Golden Bears are seeking their first trip to the Championship game and their first GLIAC Tournament win since 2019 this weekend.
