ALLENDALE, Mich. – Concordia-St. Paul's Arika Robinson closed out the season strong as she was crowned as the NCAA Champion in the high jump at the NCAA Championships on the campus of Grand Valley State on Saturday.
 
The St. Paul native capped off an incredible school year as she became the program's first ever two-time national champion and five-time All-American, winning both the indoor and outdoor high jump this year. Robinson collected her third All-America selection in the high jump, the last two being First Team, while she also added Second Team honors in multi-event competitions in both the indoor and outdoor seasons this year.
 
Robinson matched her championship-winning mark in the indoor season as she was the only competitor to clear 5'11.5". She surpassed her own outdoor school record of 5'10.75" back on March 19.
 
Heading into the competition ranking third in the event, she was nearly perfect through the first five bars as she had just one miss over that span. As one of three athletes to reach 5'10.5", Robinson cleared the bar on her third attempt to stay alive. She wasted no time clearing the bar at 5'11.5" as she did it on the first try while her final competitor, Mercedeez Francis of Tiffin, fell short on her three attempts to secure the title for Robinson.
