Golden Bears fall to Minnesota Duluth 2-1

ST. PAUL, Minn.- The Concordia-St. Paul women's soccer (6-5-1, 5-3-1 NSIC) team fell to Minnesota Duluth (2-9-1-, 2-6-1 NSIC) on Friday night 2-1. Sophie Pawlyshyn was the Golden Bears only goal scorer. 

With her goal, Pawlyshyn now records three on the 2021 season and is tied with teammates Jena Berkland and Abby Kloiber. The goal also brings her onto the top 20 leaderboard for the NSIC in goals. Furthermore, the sophomore midfielder had four shots on goal. 

Sophomore forward Katie Anderson led the Bears with nine total shots, putting her atop the NSIC in shots with 63 at the time of this writing. She also had four shots on goal on Friday evening. 

Ailee Snapko, a junior midfielder, had the assist on the Pawlyshyn goal while also earning one shot and one shot on goal in 43 minutes played. 

Defenders Tori Miller and Kayla Renwick as well as midfielder Abby Kloiber all played the full 90 minutes. 

Concordia-St. Paul outshot their Minnesota Duluth opponents 21-7 and goalkeeper Jessi Jordan faced seven shots.  

The Golden Bears will play again at home on Sunday, Oct. 17 at 1 p.m. They will face the St. Cloud State Huskies who are coming off a 1-0 loss to Minnesota State on Friday.
