ST. PAUL, Minn. – With the first tournament of the spring season under their belt, the Concordia-St. Paul women's golf team is officially back in action and set for their second competition which will take place on March 16-17. The Golden Bears will travel to St. Joseph, Missouri for the Holiday Inn Express Invitational at the St. Joseph Country Club hosted by Missouri Western State.
Concordia is coming off a fifth-place finish at the Warrior Invite where they competed in a pool of ten teams at the Stallion Mountain Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nevada. The women had a team low score of 658 in the 36-hole tournament, with a 323 in round one and 337 on day two.
Brooklyn Hofer was the top individual finisher for the Bears, shooting an 80 and 82 to end in 12
th place.
Isabella Dory was the second individual leader with 164 strokes after the two rounds and finished 15
th.
Lexi Partington tied for 16
th with a 36-hole score of 165 and
Natalie Poppens tied for 18
th with 166.
Winona State will be the only other NSIC team competing at the Holiday Inn Invite with CSP. At the Warrior Invite, the Bears finished higher than WSU who took eighth place with 700 strokes.
One year ago at the tournament hosted by Missouri Western State, the Golden Bears finished ninth of 14 teams by shooting a total 36-hole score of 676 (+100).
Heather Claussen's second round in the tournament was a career-best, shooting a 77(+5) and making a 15-stroke improvement from her round one score. Claussen finished with a score of 169 (+25) and ended in a tie for 32
nd with her teammate
Lexi Partington, who also shot 169 (+25) during her freshman year.
