Benjamin Allen took second for the men and junior
Kara Lindberg placed fourth for the women at the Bulldog Open hosted by the University of Minnesota Duluth on Saturday at Bagley Nature Center on UMD's campus.
The event came together late in the week when UMD was forced to cancel its original meet due to course conditions. Northern Sun members Winona State and UMD competed with Concordia in a three team race with the men running a 7k and the women a 6k.
UMD's women edged Winona State with 28 points to the Warriors' 37 while CSP had 72.
On the men's side, UMD had a bit more distance with 29 points while Winona State (49) slid past Concordia (52) for the second spot.
Nikki Staffen won the women's 6k in a time of 25:01 with Lindberg just 16 seconds back in fourth (25:17).
Lucia Mesfin was second on the team, placing 14th overall at 26:16.
Josh Jarpey (23:57) won the men's 7k by 10 seconds with Allen coming in second at 24:07.
Cole Oslin (24:55) and
Zeke Green (24:56) gave CSP three top-10 runners.
