Golden Bear men and women finish in 14th place at Roy Griak Invitational

VerSteeg and Tock lead the way with 63rd and 115th place finishes.

FORT SNELLING, Minn. — The Concordia-St. Paul men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Roy Griak Invitational this morning at the Fort Snelling Golf Course. Both the men and women finished in 14th place. The CSP men competed in a field of 18 teams and recorded 441 points, while the women competed in a field of 17 teams and collected 431 points. 

Estee VerSteeg turned in another strong performance on the women's side finishing in 63rd place with a time of 21:33.7 in a field of 240 runners. VerSteeg's finish marks a new best 6k time by a CSP women's runner, besting the previous record of 22:58.0 set by Kara Lindberg in 2017. 

Among NSIC competitors VerSteeg managed a sixth place finish as well. 

Junior Kayla Anderson turned in a strong race as well, finishing in 22:37.7 setting a new personal best 6k time and finishing in 119th place. Anderson's previous 6k best came at the NCAA Central Region Championships last season. 

Lauryn Rosenthal set a new 6k PR as well, finishing with a time of 25:01.2 and taking 206th place. Freshman Noelle Boyd finished in 226th place with a time of 27:26.0 in her first collegiate 6k. 

Freshman Elizabeth Zenda-Johnson made her CSP debut and finished with a time of 29:42.1. Elsie Atkins rounded things out for the CSP women finishing with a time of 31:39.3 and a 238th place finish. 

On the men's side Travis Tock led the way coming in with a time of 26:18.9 to finish in 115th place. The junior set a new personal best 8k time, besting his previous PR of 26:30.5 at the 2024 NSIC Championships. 

Senior Josh Krummel came in behind Tock with a time of 27:06.0 in 145th place. Krummel's 8k time is a new best at the Griak beating his previous time by two minutes. 

Freshman Austin Burgess finished in 149th place with a time of 27:10.6, while Zay Acosta came in with a time of 27:40.6 and a 160th place finish. Jordan Stumm and Nathaniel Merrell rounded things out for CSP with times of 28:38.7 and 28:57.0. 

 Iowa State took the top team spot on the men's side finishing with a total of 24 points. The top NSIC squad was Minnesota State in ninth place with 227 points. 

On the women's side Minnesota took the top spot with 26 points, while Winona State was the top NSIC team in 182nd place.

The CSP women have their highest finish at the Roy Griak Invitational in their team history.

The CSP women have their 3rd highest Team Top 5 Time Average of 25:17 at the Roy Griak Invitational.

63rd – Estee VerSteeg – 21:33.7 – Personal Best Time.  Estee establishes a new CSP School record breaking the previous record held by Kara Lindberg.  She broke the record by 55.6 seconds.  Estee establishes a new CSP course record at this new Roy Griak Invitational.  Estee has the 8th best finish by a CSP women runner at the Roy Griak Invitational.

119th – Kayla Anderson – 22:37.7 – Personal Best Time.  Kayla breaks her previous personal best time by 46 seconds.  She runs the 3rd fastest race in CSP history.  She runs the 2nd fastest race by a CSP sophomore.  She runs the 2nd best race at the new Roy Griak Invitational.  Kayla improves 3 minutes and 28.2 seconds from her 2025 Roy Griak Invitational.

206th – Lauryn Rosenthal – 25:01.2 – Personal Best Time.  Lauryn breaks her previous personal best time by 9.9 seconds.  Lauryn runs the 3rd fastest time at the new Roy Griak Course.  Lauryn runs 2 minutes 11.1 seconds faster than she did at the 2025 Roy Griak Invitational.

226th – Noelle Boyd – 27:26.0 – Personal Best Time.  Noelle runs the 4th fastest time at the new Roy Griak Course.

235th – Elizabeth Zenda-Johnson – 29:42.1 – Personal Best Time.  Elizabeth runs the 5th fastest time at the new Roy Griak Course.

238th – Elise Atkins – 31:39.3 – Season Best Time - Elise runs the 6th fastest time at the new Roy Griak Course.  Elise runs 2 minutes 27.5 seconds faster than her 2024 Roy Griak Invitational performance.

145th – Joshua Krummel – 27:06.0 – Season Best Time – Josh runs the 2nd fastest time at the new Roy Griak Course.  Josh runs the 10th fastest time at the Roy Griak Invitational.  Josh runs his fastest Roy Griak course improving by 3 minutes and 18 seconds from his 2023 Griak performance.  He runs 7 minutes and 28.2 seconds faster than his 2025 Griak Invitational performance.

184th – Nathaniel Merrell – 28:57.0 – Personal Best Time- Nathaniel improves by 2 minutes 1.3 seconds from his NSIC Championships 2025 race.  Nathaniel runs the 6th fastest time at the new Roy Griak Course.
