WATERLOO, Iowa - Concordia-St. Paul had big weekends from a rookie and a veteran at the Upper Iowa Invitational at Sunnyside Country Club, where the Golden Bears tied for third in an eight team field.

Trent Anderson had the big second round for the second straight week to follow freshman
Noah Rasinski's big first round. The tandem produced top-10 finishes in the tournament with Rasinski tying for seventh place (+9, 72-81=153) just a shot ahead of Anderson (+10, 79-75=154) on the 57-player individual leaderboard.
Anderson moved up eight spots on the final leaderboard with his team leading 75 in the second round, the fourth best score of the round in the field. Rasinski's par in the first round had him tied for second and he held strong with the seventh place finish, securing his third top-10 finish while Anderson nabs his second of the year and third of his career.
On the team side, Concordia moved up a spot from fourth to third by playing consistent golf in the two rounds, shooting a 312 in the first and 313 in the second round. Concordia's 625 tied Bemidji State, who shot the same scores but in the opposite rounds. The two teams jumped ahead of Sioux Falls, who dropped from third to sixth (310-321).
Lindenwood captured the team title with the top round each day (307-296), breaking its first round tie with Minot State by a 19-stroke margin on day two.
The result of Minot State dropping 19 strokes to Lindenwood was a crowded team field. Minot State (+46) was just three strokes ahead of CSP and Bemidji State. From there, St. Cloud State (+54), Sioux Falls and Upper Iowa (+55 each) gave the tournament six of eight teams finishing within nine shots of each other.
Lindenwood had the top three finishers led by Alejandro Canazares who finished -2 (72-70=142) to edge out teammate Yente Van Doren by two shots (76-68=144). Ryan Dyck, playing as an individual for Lindenwood, finished third at +1 (73-72=145).
Anderson's big second round was sparked by an eagle, one of three players to deliver an eagle in the tournament. He also finished the tournament with three birdies and 19 pars, excelling on par five holes with a cumulative -1 score. Rasinski's seventh place finish was a result of a tournament-high seven birdies, playing strong golf across par three (+2), four (+6) and par five (+1) holes throughout the event.
