HUDSON, Wisc. — The Concordia-St. Paul men's golf team wrapped up the CSP/MSUFall Brawl at Troy Burne on Tuesday afternoon. The Golden Bears managed a second place finish in the tournament after shooting a 285 (-1) in round two.
Trey Timm ended the day as CSP's leading scorer, the senior shot a 66 in round two. Starting the day strong with a birdie on hole three, following up with a birdie on hole five and an eagle on the 355 yard, par four.
Timm added four more birdies to the scorecard to finish the day with a 66 (-5). The score is a career single round low for Timm, who finished the tournament with a total score of 141 (-1) to finish in fifth place on the individual leaderboard. The finish is also a career best two round low for Timm.
Junior Josh Esterly shot a 74 (+3) in the final round of the tournament, tallying four birdies on the day including three on the back nine. Esterly finished the tournament with a score of 142 (E) and in ninth place in the individual competition.
Freshman Sean Leutner put together a strong final round, starting the day with one birdie on the front nine to head into the turn at even par. On the back nine Leutner added three more birdies on his scorecard to finish the day with a score of 70 (-1). Giving him a score of 144 (+2) across both rounds, good for 16th place.
Another freshman, Carson Boe had a strong second round showing. Tallying three birdies on the day to finish with a score of 74 (+4) to shoot a 144 (+2) for the tournament, finishing tied with Leutner for 16th place.
Chase Camilli rounded out the Golden Bears five, shooting a 77 (+6) on the day. Camilli tallied two birdies on the scorecard in the final round, finishing the tournament with a score of 148 (+6) in 25th place.
Sam Rudolph tallied four birdies in the final round to shoot a 73 (+2), for a tournament total of 150 (+8). Sam Lunde shot a 75 (+4) in round two with one birdie to card a 150 (+8) for the tournament.
The Golden Bears managed to shoot a 567 (-1) as a team across both rounds to finish one-under-par for the tournament, and 12 strokes behind first place Winona State who carded a 283 (-1) in round two to finish atop the team leaderboard.
Sioux Falls finished in third behind CSP carding a 287 (+1) in round two. Minnesota State came in fourth with a round two score of 301 (+15).
Peyton Coahran came out on top in the individual leaderboard, carding a 137 (-5) for the tournament to finish one stroke ahead of Sioux Falls' Charlie Hanson.
The Golden Bears next event is the Watkins Invitational hosted by Winona State at the Jewel in Lake City, Minnesota on Sept. 22-23.
