LAKE CITY, Minn. — The Concordia-St. Paul men's golf team wrapped up round one of play at The Watkins Invitational in Lake City on Monday afternoon. The Golden Bears currently sit in fourth place with a team score of 283 (-5).
Trey Timm finished the day as CSP's leader in the clubhouse, the senior shot a 67 (-5) in round one and is currently in a three-way tie for first place on the individual leaderboard. Timm started round one hot, birding four times on the front nine. Timm added two more birdies on the back nine, finishing five-under-par to match his second round score from the CSP/MSU Fall Brawl.
Freshman Seasn Leutner put together a strong first round, carding a 69 (-3) in the opening round. Leutner tallied five birdies on the day, ending round one in second place after putting together his best single round score of the season.
Chase Camilli managed a bogey free scorecard on the front nine, tallying two birdies. Camilli added another birdie on the back nine to card a 70 (-2) in the opening round. The junior currently sits in 12th place on the individual leaderboard.
Freshman Carson Boe opened round one with a par and a birdie on the scorecard, closing out the day with another birdie on hole one to shoot a 73 (+1), good for 29th place.
Sam Lunde finished the day with an identical 73 (+1), with two birdies on the scorecard. Josh Esterley tallied three birdies to finish the day at 74 (+2) in 38th place.
Camden O'Malley tallied five birdies in the first round ending the day with a score of 70 (-2) and in a tie for 12th place.
In the team competition Winona State leads at the end of round one, shooting 276 (-12) as a team. The Golden Bears are currently in fourth place at five-under-par, one stroke behind third place Minnesota-Crookston.
Trey Timm currently sits in a three-way tie for first place at five-under-par in the individual competition with Bemidji State's Julius Arekiel and Minnesota-Crookston's Marc Bofarull.
Action continues tomorrow morning at the Jewel in Lake City for the final round of The Watkins Invitational.
