LAKE CITY, Minn. — The Concordia-St. Paul men's golf team wrapped the final round of play at The Watkins Invitational in Lake City on Tuesday. The Golden Bears carded a 291 (+3) on the day to shoot a 574 (-2) for the tournament, finishing in sixth place.
Senior Trey Timm was CSP's leading scorer, carding a 72 (E) in round two. Timm birdied three times on the front nine, shooting a 37 at the turn. On the back nine the senior birdied on 13 and closed out the day with another birdie on the 540 yard, par 5, 16th hole.
Timm closed out the tournament with an even par finish, after a five-under-par round one to card a 139 (-5) across both rounds to finish eighth on the individual leaderboard. Timm's 139 is a new 36 hole low for the senior golfer, breaking the personal best he set just one week ago at the CSP/MSU Fall Brawl.
Timm's 139 is the second best 36 hole tournament low in program history, four strokes behind the program record low of 135 set by Brandon Sperling at the BSU Invite in 2022.
Chase Camilli birdied three times in the final round of play to card a 72 (E). After shooting a 40 on the front nine, Camilli turned it on. The junior birdied three times on the back nine to finish the day at even par. Camilli carded a 142 (-2) for the tournament, to finish in 18th individually.
Josh Esterley tallied three birdies and one eagle on the scorecard to shoot a 73 (+1) in the final round. Esterley started the day hot with a birdie on hole three before adding another on hole eight. The eagle came on the 511 yard, par five, ninth hole, the junior capped the day with another birdie on hole 12 to finish the day one-over-par.
Esterley carded a 147 (+3) for the tournament, to finish in 33rd place.
Freshman Carson Boe tallied four birdies to card a 74 (+2) in the final round. Sinking back-to-back birdies on holes 12 and 13 to finish the day two-over-par.
Boe carded a 147 (+3) for the tournament to finish tied with Esterley in 33rd place.
Camden O'Malley birdied four times in round two, to card a 74 (+2) on the day and finish the tournament with a score of 144 (E) in 23rd place. O'Malley's 144 is a career 36 hole best, the junior shaved eight strokes off his previous two round low of 152.
Freshman Sam Lunde carded a 78 (+6) in the final round, tallying two birdies on the scorecard. Lunde shot a 151 (+7) for the tournament to finish 46th individually.
Sean Leutner birdied twice in the final round to card a 75 (+3), finishing in 74th place.
Tournament host Winona State claimed the top spot in the team competition, carding a 546 (-30) to finish the tournament with a commanding 14 stroke lead on second place Bemidji State. The Golden Bears finished a collective two-under-par in sixth place two strokes ahead of Augustana.
Winona State's Peyton Coahran won the individual competition for the second week in a row after carding a 135 (-9).
The Golden Bears will take a two week hiatus before hitting the road for Edmond, Oklahoma to compete in the Skip Wagnon Invitational hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma on Oct. 6-7.
